Postdoctoral Scholar position in thermal science and engineering University of California, Merced in United States

The University of California Merced's Water and Energy Technology Laboratory is seeking two postdoctoral scholars for research in phase-change heat transfer and thermal desalination. This position is ideal for self-motivated, creative, and enthusiastic researchers interested in advancing the understanding of heat and mass transport in thermal desalination processes. The successful candidates will be responsible for conducting research on heat and mass transport, authoring scientific papers based on their findings, and assisting in the supervision of graduate and undergraduate assistants involved in related projects.

Applicants must hold a PhD in thermal science and engineering or a closely related field, with demonstrated research experience in phase-change heat transfer. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in experimental heat transfer and a proven ability to conduct independent scientific research. The appointment is full-time (100%) for two years, with an annual starting salary ranging from $69,073 to $82,836, depending on experience.
