Additional preferences are given to candidates with expertise in quantitative methods, geospatial methods, AI and machine learning, high-performance and cloud computing, scientific computing, independent research capability, a strong publication record (minimum five first-authored papers in reputed international peer-reviewed journals), and familiarity with scientific discovery processes.

The position offers a highly competitive package, including medical benefits and a gratuity upon completion of the term. The initial appointment is for two to three years, with the possibility of renewal up to six years. The RAP can apply for research funding from the Hong Kong government (Research Grant Council). Applications are considered starting 3 November 2025 until the position is filled. Interested candidates should apply online via the official portal and review the job details for submission instructions.

Key research areas include GeoAI, geomatics, global change ecology, urban science, sustainability, remote sensing, GIScience, data science, quantitative methods, machine learning, and environmental science. The department encourages applications from highly motivated individuals eager to contribute to innovative research and academic excellence in these fields.
