Postdoctoral Fellowship in Computational Biology, AI, and Systems Neurology (NOMIS–SyNergy, Munich)

The NOMIS–SyNergy Fellowship Program in Systems Neurology offers elite postdoctoral positions in Munich, Germany, focusing on computational biology, artificial intelligence, neuroscience, and systems neurology. Hosted within the interdisciplinary SyNergy excellence cluster, this opportunity is ideal for early-career scientists with a strong background in neuroscience, molecular biology, systems biology, clinical neurology, or computational biology. Fellows will engage in cutting-edge research at the intersection of systems-level biology and neuroscience, contributing to insights into disease mechanisms and translational innovations. The program is supported by the NOMIS Foundation and the DFG-funded Munich Cluster for Systems Neurology, providing access to a world-class research environment, including two Excellence Universities and several Max Planck and Helmholtz Institutes. Fellows will join an international network of NOMIS Fellows and receive tailored mentorship from renowned principal investigators in academia and industry. The cluster is entering its third seven-year funding phase, ensuring long-term support and unique career development opportunities, including the chance to develop independent scientific projects and prepare for leading a research group. Applicants must have completed a PhD or MD and demonstrate scientific excellence, independent thinking, and a bold vision for interdisciplinary research. Application materials include a CV with a full publication list, up to two best publications, and a two-page research proposal for an innovative project to be carried out in a SyNergy lab of choice. Prior to applying, candidates must contact a PI to discuss project ideas and secure agreement. Applications are to be submitted as a single PDF to [email protected] by March 31, 2026. For more information, visit the SyNergy website or contact the program coordinators. This fellowship provides an exceptional platform for postdoctoral researchers to advance their careers in computational biology, AI, and neuroscience within a vibrant and collaborative scientific community in Munich.
