Professor Position in Cultural Sciences, Media and Heritage Studies at Open Universiteit

The Faculty of Cultural Sciences at Open Universiteit is seeking applications for a Professor position specializing in cultural studies, media studies, heritage studies, sociology, or cultural anthropology. The role focuses on addressing contemporary societal challenges from a cultural studies perspective and requires a strong research profile in relevant fields such as modern and contemporary history, media studies, heritage studies, and cultural sociology. The successful candidate will contribute to innovative teaching at both bachelor and master levels, including general cultural studies courses, and will be involved in contract education and research where appropriate. The professor will enhance the faculty's expertise, foster a stimulating research environment, and actively contribute to the faculty's visibility both nationally and internationally. Administrative and leadership responsibilities within the faculty are expected, as well as participation in faculty activities in Heerlen. Applicants should have a PhD, a proven track record in research and teaching, and experience with interdisciplinary projects.
