PhD Position in Sarcoma Pathology and Immunogenomics at Leiden University Medical Center

Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) is offering a fully funded PhD position focused on the immunogenomics of sarcomas. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team at the Department of Pathology, working closely with the Bone and Soft Tissue Tumour Pathology and Cancer Immunogenomics research groups. The project aims to unravel the complex (immune) microenvironment of sarcomas using unique datasets and advanced technologies such as imaging mass cytometry and high-resolution spatial transcriptomics. The research will contribute to the development of personalized treatment strategies for rare and complex tumors. Supervisors for this position are Prof. Judith Bovée, an expert in bone and soft tissue tumors, and Prof. Noel de Miranda, who leads the Immunogenomics group. The PhD student will benefit from a structured training framework provided by the LUMC Graduate School, fostering both personal and scientific development. Applicants should have a Master's degree in a relevant field, strong computational skills, some laboratory experience, and excellent English communication abilities. The position is fully funded for four years, with a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits. The application deadline is July 7, 2024. Interested candidates should apply via the LUMC online portal and be prepared for an interview and presentation as part of the selection process.
