Jeonbuk National University, located in Iksan, South Korea, is inviting applications for MS+PhD (Integrated) and PhD positions in the Department of Environmental Biotechnology for the Spring Semester (March) 2026. The research group, led by Professor Jum Suk Jang (Environmental Resource Remediation and Recycling Lab), focuses on cutting-edge topics in electrochemistry, energy, and environmental applications. The program is ideal for candidates with backgrounds in physics, chemistry, materials science, nanotechnology, chemical engineering, or related engineering and technology fields. Applicants must possess a bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field and have an excellent academic record. All candidates should be prepared to provide their original degree certificate and academic transcript (with apostille). The application deadline is December 17, 2025. Incomplete applications or those from candidates without the required background will not be considered. Tuition for the first semester is approximately 3,800,000 KRW and must be paid by the applicant. Accommodation is available in university dormitories or nearby housing. The research areas include environmental biotechnology, electrochemistry, energy applications, materials science, and chemical engineering. The MS+PhD program typically lasts 2+4 years, while the PhD program is 4 years, with possible extensions based on research performance. Students will benefit from a supportive academic environment, 15 days of vacation per year, and access to modern laboratory facilities. To apply, send your CV and cover letter, including a one-page summary of your past research experience and future research interests, to [email protected].
