Postdoctoral Position in Malaria Liver-Stage Infection Research at Institut Pasteur

The Institut Pasteur is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join a collaborative, internationally funded research program focused on the liver-stage infection of the malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum . The project aims to identify host determinants of infection, contributing to the development of translational strategies for malaria prevention. The successful candidate will engage in loss-of-function and image-based high-throughput screening studies, analyzing infection phenotypes in a highly interactive and international research environment. Applicants should have strong experience in mammalian cell culture, with additional skills in parasite handling and mosquito dissection considered advantageous. The research will be conducted at the Institut Pasteur, which provides access to advanced core facilities, including imaging, automated screening, and vector production platforms. The position is initially offered for one year, with the possibility of renewal, and includes opportunities for the fellow to develop independent funding applications with institutional support and mentoring. To apply, candidates should submit a CV, a brief cover letter, and the contact details of two referees to Dr. Liliana Mancio Silva. The research group is led by Dr. Mancio Silva, a group leader at Inserm and Institut Pasteur, and is dedicated to advancing knowledge in malaria biology, host-pathogen interactions, and translational infectious disease research. This opportunity is ideal for candidates interested in parasitology, vector biology, and infectious diseases, and who wish to work in a dynamic, well-resourced environment in France.
