Postdoctoral Fellow in Translational Neurocircuitry, Neuroimaging, and Neuromodulation (Psychiatry/Neuroscience)
The Translational Neurocircuitry and Neuromodulation Laboratory (TNNLab) at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth Houston) is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to join their team in the Louis A. Faillace, MD Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at McGovern Medical School. The lab focuses on cross-species, multimodal neuroimaging and neuromodulation to study the neural circuitry underlying psychiatric disorders, with a particular emphasis on obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), major depressive disorder (MDD), and stress-related psychopathology.
Current research projects integrate non-human primate tract-tracing, advanced human neuroimaging techniques (including fMRI, dMRI, fNIRS, EEG), computational modeling, machine learning, and real-time fMRI neurofeedback. The goal is to develop circuit-based biomarkers and precision interventions for psychiatric disorders. The postdoctoral fellow will play a central role in experimental design, data acquisition, analysis, manuscript preparation, and supporting grant writing, with opportunities to develop independent research directions and funding applications.
Applicants should have a PhD in neuroscience, psychology, biomedical engineering, or a related field, with experience in neuroimaging, computational modeling, and machine learning highly desirable. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package as per UTHealth Houston policies. Interested candidates should email a cover letter describing their research interests, motivation, and career goals, a curriculum vitae, and contact information for three references to Dr. Lucas Trambaiolli ([email protected]).
