PhD Opportunities in Agri-Food Research (Walsh Scholarship) at Queen's University Belfast

The Walsh Scholarship Programme, in partnership with Queen's University Belfast and Teagasc, is announcing new PhD opportunities for 2026 in agri-food research. This flagship doctoral training programme is designed for ambitious graduates seeking to undertake high-impact PhD study while developing as confident, capable, and career-ready researchers. The 2026 intake will include 20 research projects across agriculture, food, environment, climate, rural development, and related disciplines. Scholars will be embedded in active, multidisciplinary research environments at Teagasc’s national research centres and partner universities, including Queen's University Belfast.
