Assistant Professor Position in Internal Medicine, Evidence-Based Practice, and Health Services Research

The University of Kansas Medical Center is seeking applications for an Assistant Professor in Internal Medicine who will also serve as Assistant Director of the Evidence-Based Practice, Outcomes & Impact Center (EPIC). This faculty position offers the opportunity to lead evidence-based research and health services evaluation projects, mentor and train graduate students, doctoral candidates, and postdocs, and expand EPIC’s research portfolio through collaborations and new grants. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing actionable evidence synthesis for clinical, public health, and health services topics, and will provide leadership in designing, analyzing, and reporting health services projects. The role involves shaping practice patterns, healthcare utilization, and cost-effectiveness studies across the health system, with a focus on nephrology and hypertension. Applicants must hold an MD or PhD in Clinical Epidemiology, Public Health, Health Research Methodology, Health Economics, or a related discipline. Required skills include experience with quantitative data analysis and statistical software such as SAS, STATA, or SPSS, and a strong track record in evidence synthesis and grant funding. Preferred qualifications include over five years of experience in systematic review/evidence synthesis, manuscript preparation, conference presentation experience, and strong project management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
