Master's Opportunity in Poultry Nutrition and Physiology at Université de Montréal

This master's opportunity at the Université de Montréal focuses on poultry nutrition and physiology, specifically investigating how liver health challenges in late-cycle laying hens affect gut function, nutrient utilization, bone strength, and shell quality. The project places a particular emphasis on the impact of liver condition on the efficiency of food enzymes, offering students hands-on experience in applied poultry research. Students will participate in in vivo testing, digestibility analyses, and egg and bone quality evaluation, working in collaboration with Trouw Nutrition, an international industrial partner. This collaboration provides strong exposure to applied research in an industrial setting and includes a research stay abroad. The recruited candidate will be enrolled in the master's program of the Department of Veterinary Biomedicine at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Université de Montréal. The animal trial will be conducted in Toledo, Spain, at the Trouw Nutrition Poultry Research Centre, with a minimum stay of one month. The position is paid, and round-trip economy class airfare (Montreal–Madrid) and furnished accommodation during the stay in Spain are provided. Applicants should have a background in veterinary science, animal science, biology, or a related field, and an interest in poultry nutrition, physiology, and applied research. Candidates must be eligible for admission to the master's program and should send their CV and contact details for at least two references to the provided email address. The start date is as soon as possible.
