This PhD position focuses on integrating spatial dimensions into household decision-making, examining how partner, labor, housing, and location choices are made and interact. The successful candidate will actively prepare a PhD thesis in economics under the supervision of Professor Sebastiaan Maes, publish scientific articles related to the research project, and contribute to limited teaching and research support tasks within the department.

Applicants should have a strong interest in household economics, demand analysis, and structural econometrics. A Master degree in Economics, Applied Economics, Social Economics, or Business Engineering is required, along with excellent academic results. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in econometrics and quantitative methods, as well as excellent spoken and written English skills.
