King's College London School of Global Affairs is offering four fully funded PhD scholarships as part of the African Creativity Beyond Borders Project, starting October 2026. These scholarships are designed for postgraduate students interested in researching the African creative economy, mobility, heritage, and related topics. The programme is based in the African Leadership Centre and King's Arts & Humanities, with opportunities to collaborate with partners such as LAGO-COLLECTIVE and Sudan Film Factory.

Applicants should have academic backgrounds in arts, humanities, creative practice, social sciences, policy, or development studies. Funding covers full tuition fees and an annual stipend (£22,780 for 2026), with research training, support, and conference/workshop opportunities. The scholarship lasts four years, and only one of the four awards is available to international applicants. International students must arrange their own visa and pay the Immigration Health Surcharge (£776/year), which is not covered by the scholarship.
