Project Title: EPSRC Collaborative Studentship – Advancing mechanistic understanding of atrial fibrillation through analytical and physics-based machine learning
---

Why this matters:

Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common heart rhythm disorder, yet its multi-layered complexity is poorly understood. This pioneering PhD bridges machine learning, cardiac physics, and clinical data — a first-of-its-kind opportunity to revolutionize how AF is diagnosed and treated.

Who should apply:

Graduates with at least a 2:1 in a relevant subject

Strong background in maths/physics (PDEs, optimisation) and/or machine learning

No prior medical background required
