About this position
We have just opened the very first call for applications to the
GIMM
PhD Program in Biology and Biomedicine.
This inaugural round includes 17 PhD Research Fellowships and 1 Marie Sklodowska-Curie Doctoral Networks position — a powerful reflection of GIMM’s scientific ambition and our shared commitment to shaping the future of biomedical research.
The GIMM PhD Program welcomes candidates from all over the world who are driven by curiosity, passionate about science, and ready to immerse themselves in a multidisciplinary environment. We invite applications from graduates in medicine, biological and biomedical sciences, as well as from candidates with backgrounds in physics, chemistry, mathematics, engineering, or related areas.
Selected candidates will start with three months of structured coursework before launching into their individual research projects. Students will be registered at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Lisbon, and integrated into the CAML PhD Program.
We are building GIMM one discovery, one student, one step at a time. And this is just the beginning.
Applications open from June 2 to July 9, 2025 (23:59 Lisbon time).
Program starts on January 5, 2026.
