The 17th Annual Catchment Science Summer School is an in-person, 6-day intensive course designed for PhD students and postdoctoral researchers interested in catchment science, hydrology, and environmental science. The event will take place from September 6th to 11th, 2026, at the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom. This summer school is hosted by the University of Birmingham in collaboration with the McDonnell Hydrology Lab and the Global Institute for Water Security at the University of Saskatchewan.

The program covers a range of topics in catchment science, including hydrological processes, water security, and the latest research in earth and environmental sciences. Participants will benefit from lectures, field trips, and networking opportunities with leading experts and peers in the field. The registration fee of £880 GBP includes dinner at the welcome event, lunch on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and dinner on Wednesday. Attendees are required to bring a packed lunch for the field trip on Wednesday. Please note that travel, accommodation, and some meals are not included in the fee.

Eligibility is limited to current PhD students and postdoctoral researchers in catchment science or closely related disciplines.
