About this position


We are seeking a talented, organised and highly motivated individual to work as a post-doctoral research associate in the Department of Eye and Vision Sciences at the University of Liverpool funded by an EPSRC Award. This is an exciting opportunity to join a cross-disciplinary team at The University of Liverpool working on an innovative project to develop and evaluate novel, fully-automatic AI-powered diagnostic tools to support the accurate prediction of diabetic neuropathy. You will be based in the Department of Eye and Vision Sciences in the Institute of Life Courses and Medical Sciences, and work closely with a large interdisciplinary research team of academic and clinician colleagues in Liverpool and Manchester.

The post is available until 31 July 2027.

You will have a PhD (or be about to obtain) in areas relevant to this post (e.g. computer science, engineering, Statistics, and mathematics etc).

If you are still awaiting your PhD to be awarded you will be appointed at Grade 6, spine point 30.  Upon written confirmation that you have been awarded your PhD, your salary will be increased to Grade 7, spine point 31.
