About this position

The Communication Theory and Technologies (CT&T) Research Group at New York University Abu Dhabi is seeking a Post-Doctoral Associate to join its Division of Engineering under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Murat Uysal.

The successful candidate will engage in advanced research focused on the physical layer design of wireless communication systems and the development of enabling technologies for 6G and future wireless networks. Research topics include waveform design for emerging spectrum (FR3, MMW, sub-THz/THz), extreme massive MIMO communications, analog/digital/hybrid beamforming architectures, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces, machine learning applications in wireless communications, hardware-constrained signal processing, and channel modeling and characterization. Applicants must possess a PhD in electrical/electronics engineering, telecommunications, or a closely related field, with a strong background in communication theory, signal processing, and wireless communications.

Candidates should demonstrate extensive experience in physical layer algorithm design and performance analysis, a solid publication record in IEEE journals and conferences, and strong English communication skills. What's required

Applicants must hold a PhD degree in electrical/electronics engineering, telecommunications or a related field. Required qualifications include a strong background in communication theory, signal processing, and wireless communications; extensive experience in physical (PHY) layer algorithm design and performance analysis; a proven track record of publications in relevant IEEE journals and conferences; strong verbal and written English skills; and excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to pursue independent research. Prior research experience in one or more of the following topics is preferred: waveform design for emerging spectrum, massive MIMO communications, beamforming architectures, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces, machine learning for wireless communications, hardware-constrained signal processing, and channel modeling.
