The Chakrabarti Lab at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley is seeking motivated and hard-working MS students for thesis track positions in plant genomics and molecular biology. Students can join through the UTRGV Biology or BCMB MS programs. Research projects are available focusing on the molecular regulation of abiotic stresses, such as drought and heat response, or on the molecular regulation of biotic stress in plants. The lab investigates all levels of molecular response, including transcriptional, post-transcriptional, translational, and epigenetic regulation.

Students will have opportunities to publish peer-reviewed papers and present their research at conferences. The lab environment is supportive of academic growth and research excellence.
