PhD Opportunities in Sleep, Pain, and Caregiver Experiences in Intellectual Disability (Psychology/Neuroscience) Aston University in

Two PhD opportunities are available at the Shine Lab, Aston School of Psychology, Aston University, focusing on sleep research in young people with intellectual disabilities. The first project, open to UK home students, investigates sleep, pain, and caregiver experiences in children with SYNGAP1-associated intellectual disability, in collaboration with Birmingham Women's and Children's Hospital and Charity. The second project, open to both UK and international students, is a cotutelle PhD shared between Aston Institute of Health & Neurodevelopment and Deakin University, Australia, exploring co-sleeping in children with intellectual disability and their caregivers. Both projects use mixed-methods approaches, and candidates with experience in both statistical and qualitative analysis, as well as experience with children with neurodevelopmental conditions or their caregivers, are highly desirable.
