About this position

The Aghilinejad Group at the University of California Merced is recruiting PhD students and postdoctoral researchers for Spring 2026. Research areas include biofluid mechanics, experimental fluid dynamics, application of machine learning for hemodynamics, pulse wave analysis, and microfluidics and particle separation. The group is particularly interested in candidates with prior research experience in biomedical flows, hemodynamics, machine learning, hyperbolic PDE simulations, or experimental fluid mechanics. Postdoctoral applicants with expertise in clinical data analytics, machine learning, and non-invasive diagnostic technologies are encouraged to apply, with preference for experience in cardiovascular signal processing.

PhD applicants must apply through the UC Merced Graduate Division and email Professor Aghilinejad with a summary of their research experience and CV. Postdoctoral applicants should send a cover letter, CV, two representative publications, and contact information for two references.

The postdoctoral positions offer competitive salaries and comprehensive benefits. The application deadline for PhD positions is Spring 2026. For more details, visit the group’s website or the UC Merced Graduate Division. Undergraduate research opportunities are also available for motivated students willing to commit to at least six months of research.
