The École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) is offering a full-time PhD position in Technology & Operations Management within its Doctoral School program. The research areas include Technology Management, Operations Research, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, and Stochastics. The position focuses on topics such as product assortment optimization, omni-channel inventory management, inventory theory and demand forecasting, supply chain resilience and sustainability modeling, and supply network design. Industry collaborations are encouraged to bridge theory and practice.

Applicants should have an excellent Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Mathematics, or Computer Science, with a strong mathematical background and an interest in business or management topics. Proficiency in English, teamwork, independence, and motivation for academic research are essential. The PhD program offers full responsibility for your own dissertation, close collaboration with industry partners, co-supervision of student projects, and financial support. The research environment is international and provides intensive supervision.
