Linköping University, a leading center for AI research and education in Sweden, is seeking a PhD student to join the Reasoning and Learning Lab (ReaL) within the Division of Artificial Intelligence and Integrated Computer Systems (AIICS) at the Department of Computer and Information Science (IDA). The position focuses on generative machine learning methods for cyber security applications, under the supervision of Professor Fredrik Heintz. The research is part of the WASP NEST SOURCE project, coordinated by Lund University, and the successful candidate will be enrolled in the WASP Graduate School, which offers a comprehensive curriculum, research visits, and networking opportunities with partner universities, industry, and visiting lecturers. The lab conducts research in machine learning, machine reasoning, and their intersection with autonomous systems, multi agent systems, and industrial applications. Linköping University hosts major national and EU-funded AI initiatives, including TrustLLM, WASP, WASP-ED, and the National Academic Infrastructure for Supercomputing in Sweden (NAISS). The PhD position is a full-time employment for four years, extendable up to five years based on teaching and institutional duties. Salary is determined by local negotiation, and employment benefits are provided. Experience in AI, machine learning, deep learning, and generative AI is advantageous.
