PhD Student Position in Synthetic Biology [Start Date: September 2025 or January 2026]
Position Description: We are seeking a highly motivated PhD student to join our research team in the metabolic engineering of yeast for the production of value-added bioproducts. To learn more about our recent research in this area, please visit our lab website: https://plb.ualberta.ca .
Candidate Requirements: (1) A Master’s degree in a relevant field, (2) Hands-on experience in metabolic engineering in yeast (preferred) or other microorganisms, (3) Solid understanding of metabolic engineering and molecular biology, (4) Knowledge and experience in fermentation engineering is an asset, but not required, (5) Eligible for graduate admission at the University of Alberta.
