The University of Oslo is offering a post-doctoral fellowship within the NORCIE project at the ARENA Centre for European Studies. This opportunity is designed for researchers with a strong background in economics, international relations, or political science, and a keen interest in the evolving EU economic order and its implications for Norway. The NORCIE project focuses on the concept of rules-based openness in the EU, examining how major pressures are prompting the EU to develop more active and discretionary economic capabilities. The research will involve both internal EU policy analysis and the study of key external relationships, including the policies of the US, China, Russia, India, and Brazil, and their impact on EU interactions.

As a post-doctoral fellow, you will collaborate with Professors Craig Parsons and Bent Sofus Tranøy, as well as partners at the Department of Economics, the Chr. Michelsen Institute, and the Peace Research Institute Oslo. You will assist with research tasks set by the project leaders and have the opportunity to develop and implement your own research within the thematic scope of NORCIE. The position emphasizes informing Norwegian policy discussions, making an interest in issues relevant to Norway highly desirable.
