Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in American Studies or an equivalent qualification, with extensive knowledge of recent American Studies theories, US-American literary history across all genres, and US-American culture from its beginnings to the present. Demonstrated research experience in ethnic North American literary and cultural history, drama and theater, poetry, or intermediality studies is required. Candidates should have substantial experience in university-level research and teaching, with additional expertise in editing scholarly texts considered an asset. Excellent English and German language skills, strong social competence, organizational skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential.
