Southern Cross University is offering a Postdoctoral Research Fellow position in atmospheric aerosols, based at the National Marine Science Centre in Coffs Harbour, NSW, Australia. This opportunity is part of a pioneering research program focused on climate intervention techniques to reduce coral bleaching on the Great Barrier Reef, with a particular emphasis on Marine Cloud Brightening (MCB). The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team and contribute to field-based research utilizing Australia’s most advanced airborne atmospheric and cloud microphysics platform.

Key research areas include atmospheric aerosols, climate intervention, marine cloud brightening, coral bleaching, aerosol instrumentation, and cloud microphysics. The position is ideal for candidates with a PhD in aerosol science or a related discipline, proven expertise in aerosol instrumentation, and advanced analysis skills for cloud microphysical properties. Responsibilities include designing and implementing sampling strategies, processing and validating datasets, supporting instrumentation setup, ensuring data quality control, and contributing to innovative MCB field trials.

This is a full-time, fixed-term position for one year, with the possibility of extension based on funding and performance. The anticipated start date is February 1, 2026.
