About this position
The University of Oslo invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Evidence-Based and Behavioural Medicine, linked to the project “Communicating drug evidence to support kind and careful health decisions.” The successful candidate will join the Department of Behavioural Medicine at the Institute of Basic Medical Sciences, a multidisciplinary environment focused on health behaviour, decision-making, and clinical communication.
Supervised by Professor Per Olav Vandvik, the postdoctoral fellow will collaborate with national and international partners, including the MAGIC Evidence Ecosystem Foundation and leading research groups at institutions such as LSE, Oxford, KU Leuven, Harvard, and Dartmouth. The research aims to advance evidence-based medicine (EBM) by developing digital and trustworthy living guidelines and tools for shared decision-making (SDM) within an enhanced evidence ecosystem.
The project addresses key challenges in implementing EBM, such as time constraints and complex treatment choices faced by clinicians and patients. It also explores the potential and limitations of generative artificial intelligence (AI) and large language models (LLMs) in healthcare, with a focus on integrating EBM, behavioural science, and technology to improve patient care.
Applicants should hold a PhD or equivalent in medical sciences or a related field. Experience in evidence-based medicine, behavioural medicine, or clinical communication is desirable, as is the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams. The position is full-time and based in Oslo, Norway.
For more information and to apply, visit the official application portal. The application deadline is 12 April 2026.
