About this position

The Group for Peptide-Based Drug Discovery at ETH Zurich, led by Assistant Professor Nathalie M. Grob, is recruiting a postdoctoral researcher for an 18-month, fully funded project in collaboration with the Drug Formulation & Delivery group (Prof. Jean-Christophe Leroux). The research is supported by Innosuisse and focuses on targeted drug delivery using affinity-based peptide discovery, peptide chemistry, and advanced bioactivity profiling. The successful candidate will work on designing structure-based peptide ligands and conjugates, developing combinatorial peptide libraries, synthesizing and characterizing peptides, and evaluating their bioactivity through biophysical and cell-based assays. The project also involves proteomics, microscopy, and the application of de novo approaches for hit discovery.

Applicants should have a PhD in Chemical Biology, Peptide Chemistry, or Pharmaceutical Sciences, with strong expertise in solid-phase peptide synthesis, purification, and analytical characterization. Experience in proteomics, peptide sequencing by mass spectrometry, and bioactivity profiling using advanced biophysical and cellular methods is required. Skills in bioinformatics, programming, and structure-based design are advantageous. Candidates must have first-author publications in relevant journals and excellent English communication skills. The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team is essential.
