NTNU is a leading technical-scientific university with a strong commitment to professional education and research, located in Trondheim, Norway. The university boasts a vibrant academic community with 9,000 employees and 43,000 students, fostering knowledge for a better world. The EduGAP Project aims to provide causal evidence on the impact of assessment forms on student choices and outcomes, spanning schooling, higher education, and the life course. The successful candidate will conduct research in applied microeconometrics, focusing on education and labour economics. The project is a collaboration with University College London and University of Texas-Austin, offering opportunities for international networking and potential visits to these institutions. The department is renowned for its research in public finance, economics of education, urban and regional economics, health economics, environmental and resource economics, and financial economics. The PhD student will join an active and inclusive group of candidates at the Faculty of Economics and Management, benefiting from a supportive academic environment and career guidance. Applicants must hold (or be completing) a master's degree or equivalent in economics or a closely related field, with excellent academic results (grade B or better). Strong methodological skills in econometrics and proficiency in English are essential. Admission to the PhD programme in Economics and Management within three months of employment is required. The position offers a gross salary of NOK 550,800 per annum, with a 2% statutory contribution to the State Pension Fund and access to employee benefits and discounts. The employment period is three years, and the position is conditional on external funding. NTNU values diversity and strives to reflect societal diversity in its workforce. The university offers a friendly, informal, and collaborative working environment, with opportunities to participate in international conferences and build a global research network. Trondheim, the tech capital of Norway, provides a rich cultural scene, excellent welfare benefits, and a high quality of life. To apply, candidates must submit their application electronically via Jobbnorge.no, including a motivation letter, transcripts, diplomas, CV, example of written work, short research plan, academic works, description of contribution to joint works, names and contact information of three referees, and documentation of education.
