Postdoctoral Research Associate Positions in Trustworthy AI Security and Privacy at Old Dominion University

Old Dominion University (ODU) School of Cybersecurity is seeking two full-time Postdoctoral Research Associates in the broad area of Trustworthy AI. The positions focus on advancing research in AI Security and Privacy, with particular emphasis on Safe and Secure AI, Private AI, Robust and Reliable AI, and Human-centered AI. Priority will be given to candidates with expertise in security of agentic AI systems or privacy-preserving AI using fully homomorphic encryption. The successful candidates will join a dynamic and rapidly growing cybersecurity program at an R1 research university, collaborating on projects funded by the NSF, DoD, NSA, and industry partners. ODU's School of Cybersecurity is recognized as one of the largest in the nation, with about 1700 students, and is among only ten universities in the US to have received all three Center of Academic Excellence designations from the NSA. The university benefits from major investments in cybersecurity through the Commonwealth Cyber Initiative (CCI) and the Coastal Virginia Center for Cybersecurity Innovation (COVA CCI), providing a rich environment for research, innovation, and commercialization of next-generation cybersecurity technologies. The initial appointment is for one year, with the possibility of renewal for a second year. Applicants must hold a PhD in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field, and should demonstrate a strong research background in trustworthy AI or related areas. Application materials include a cover letter and CV, submitted via the ODU online application form. For more information about the research environment, visit the CCI and COVA CCI websites. Key research areas: Trustworthy AI, AI Security, Privacy-preserving AI, Safe and Secure AI, Human-centered AI, Robust and Reliable AI, Agentic AI systems, Homomorphic Encryption, Cybersecurity.
