The successful candidate will be based in the Department of Geography and Spatial Planning, working within the Master in Architecture program under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Florian Hertweck. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage in collaborative and individual research focused on the socio-ecological transition in architecture and urbanism, with a particular emphasis on feasibility studies and design projects in the context of Luxembourg. Responsibilities include teaching territorial, urban, and architectural design, as well as theory of urbanism and architecture. The researcher will contribute to academic publications, assist in organizing and representing the master program, tutor and evaluate master and PhD students, and undertake administrative tasks. Applicants must possess both a Master and PhD degree in architecture or urbanism, or in history or theory of architecture or urbanism. Experience in teaching design and theory, teamwork, student tutoring, and organizing academic events is essential. Additional advantages include experience with international and interdisciplinary research projects, fundraising, and design expertise in architecture and urban design. Fluency in English is required, with proficiency in German or French considered an asset. The position is a fixed-term contract for 36 months, full-time (40 hours per week), based at the Belval Campus. The annual gross salary is EUR 85,176. The University of Luxembourg offers a modern, dynamic environment with high-quality equipment, excellent infrastructure, and a commitment to inclusivity and equality.
