Postdoctoral Fellow and PhD Student Positions in Microfluidics and Biodevices for Cancer Research
Postdoctoral and PhD positions are available in the Microtechnologies for Quantitative Biomedicine Lab at The University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver, Canada. The research focuses on microfluidics and biodevices for cancer care, integrating engineering, biology, and medicine. The lab emphasizes the development and translation of micro- and nanotechnologies for healthcare, with a special focus on engineering biodevices for cancer workflows and bioanalytical methods. Core research areas include microfabricated and 3D printed devices, reconfigurable microfluidics, electrokinetics, and microcontact technologies for cancer profiling and modeling.
Successful candidates will collaborate with world-class researchers, clinicians, and industry partners, and will be part of a team that values entrepreneurship and innovation. The lab offers access to a broad network within the Life Sciences Institute, Vancouver Prostate Centre, BC Cancer Research Institute, and the School of Biomedical Engineering at UBC. Candidates will also contribute to the newly established Conconi Family BioDevice Foundry cleanroom at SBME.
Applicants must be currently residing outside Canada and will be nominated for the Canada Impact+ Research Training Awards, which provide substantial financial support: $70,000/year for postdocs (2 years) and $40,000/year for PhD students (3 years). PhD applicants are required to register via the School of Biomedical Engineering graduate program. The team encourages applications from diverse backgrounds and values equity and inclusion.
