PhD Positions in Cellulose Chemistry, Green Processes, and Sustainable Materials at BOKU University
The Institute of Chemistry of Renewable Resources at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU), is offering three fully funded PhD positions in the Christian Doppler Laboratory for Cellulose High-Tech Materials. These positions focus on the chemistry, modification, and analysis of cellulose and cellulosic materials, with a strong emphasis on green chemistry, sustainable materials, and renewable resources. The research projects are application-oriented and involve collaboration with industrial partners, addressing advanced topics in cellulose chemistry, cellulose modification, biorefinery chemistry, and analytical methods.
The positions are based at UFT Tulln and offer access to excellent research facilities. The contract is for three years at 30 hours per week, with a competitive gross salary of approximately €2,832 per month (paid 14 times per year), including comprehensive social, health, and pension insurance benefits. The research group is dedicated to exploring innovative and sustainable solutions in the field of chemistry, focusing on the recycling and regeneration of process chemicals and modern methods in green chemistry.
Applicants should have a Master's degree in chemistry, biotechnology, or a related field, with strong knowledge in organic and analytical chemistry. Additional requirements include independent research skills, scientific reporting, effective communication, presentation abilities, and teamwork.
