Postdoctoral Position in Computational Metabolomics and Exposomics at Örebro University

Örebro University is seeking a postdoctoral researcher in computational metabolomics and exposomics for a fixed-term, full-time position at the School of Medical Sciences. The research focus is on the processing and analysis of metabolomics and exposomics data, with an emphasis on method development and applications in systems medicine. The successful candidate will join a dynamic research group involved in large-scale, collaborative projects funded by the European Union and National Institutes for Health, working with mass spectrometry-based metabolomics, lipidomics, and exposomics data from various human studies. The position involves setting up and maintaining data processing and analysis pipelines, developing innovative computational methods, and applying these to international projects, such as studying the exposome's role in Alzheimer’s disease. The postdoc will collaborate closely with the metabolomics and exposome research laboratory led by Professors Matej Oresic and Tuulia Hyötyläinen. Research topics include computational biostatistics, machine learning, and integration of multi-modal biological data. Applicants must have a recent doctoral degree (within 3 years of the deadline) in a relevant field, with documented experience in computational metabolomics, statistical and machine learning, and biological data analysis. Proficiency in R is required, and experience with Java or Python is advantageous. Strong English communication skills, creativity, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are essential. The position is initially for two years, with the possibility of a one-year extension, and salary is based on qualifications and experience. To apply, candidates should submit an online application including a cover letter, CV, research qualifications, degree certificates, references, and up to 10 scientific publications. The application deadline is January 7, 2026. For more information, contact Professor Matej Oresic at [email protected]. Örebro University values diversity, equal opportunities, and a collaborative work environment.
