Funded PhD and Research Assistant Positions in Machine Learning, IoT, and TinyML at University of Dhaka

The Institute of Information Technology (IIT) at the University of Dhaka is inviting applications for a funded PhD position and two Research Assistant (RA) positions under the ICSETEP sub-project titled “Resource-Aware LLM-Guided Neural Architecture Search for Object Detection in TinyML Applications.” This project focuses on developing sustainable IoT solutions by leveraging advanced machine learning techniques, particularly in the TinyML domain, with applications in object detection, computer vision, and embedded systems. The PhD scholarship offers a monthly stipend of BDT 50,000 for up to three years, with opportunities for short-term research visits abroad to collaborate with international universities or research facilities. The two RA positions are funded under the Government Grade-9 salary scale. The research environment provides excellent lab facilities and a strong platform for research in machine learning, IoT, neural architecture search, and software engineering. Eligibility for the PhD position requires a master’s degree in a relevant discipline such as Software Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), or an equivalent field. Candidates with knowledge of machine learning, IoT, computer vision, and embedded systems will be given preference. For the RA positions, a bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or a related engineering discipline is required, with similar preferences for technical skills in ML, IoT, computer vision, and embedded systems.
