La Rochelle Université invites applications for a 19-month postdoctoral researcher or research engineer position in Management Sciences, focusing on cooperative values and corporate social responsibility (CSR) in the banking sector. This opportunity is part of a research chair supported by Banque Populaire Aquitaine Centre Atlantique (BPACA) and the La Rochelle University Foundation. The successful candidate will join the NUDD laboratory, which specializes in digital technology for sustainable development.
The research project aims to analyze the unique features of cooperative banking models compared to commercial banks, with a particular emphasis on profit distribution, CSR practices, and the evolution of board governance. The study will utilize a historical corpus of 518 annual reports from French and international banks (1945–present), with the potential for expansion. Methodologies may include quantitative and prosopographic approaches, leveraging tools such as Iramuteq for textual analysis in a historical context.
The position offers a full-time, fixed-term contract starting in February 2026, with a gross monthly salary of €2,569, in line with the university's contract staff management charter. Candidates who obtained their doctorate within the last three years may be offered a postdoctoral contract; otherwise, a research engineer contract will be provided. The role is open to candidates with RQTH status.
Applicants should hold a PhD or equivalent in management sciences, with specialization in accounting and governance. Multidisciplinary candidates with interests in digital humanities, textual analysis, governance, or economic history are encouraged to apply. The application must include a cover letter, detailed CV, and a copy of the highest degree, submitted as a single file via the online application portal. Incomplete applications or those sent by email will not be considered.
