The African Sustainable Agriculture Research Institute (ASARI), part of Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), is seeking a postdoctoral researcher for a position focused on desert and arid land agriculture. The postdoctoral researcher will play a pivotal role in developing and improving cropping practices under marginal and arid conditions. The position also involves developing and delivering training modules to farmers, cooperatives, and extension agents, as well as managing data collection, analysis, interpretation, and presentation.

Additional duties include supervising students and interns at various academic levels, managing project budgets and resources, writing research proposals for external funding, and preparing reports and manuscripts for publication in refereed journals. The candidate will be expected to maintain field and laboratory equipment, order supplies, and keep research plot records. Frequent travel to experimental platforms and farmers' fields, both nationally and internationally, is required.

Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in agricultural sciences, agronomy, crop science, plant science, or a closely related field, along with at least five years of field-based agricultural research experience. Expertise in marginal and desert environments, salinity management, crop and soil modelling, or crop production is essential. Strong organizational and time management skills, proficiency in statistical software and data analysis, and a solid publication record are required. Fluency in English is mandatory, with French and Arabic considered advantageous. Experience in multidisciplinary teams, grant writing, and supervisory roles is highly valued.
