About this position
University College London’s Connected Environments Lab is offering two fully-funded PhD opportunities as part of the EPSRC Landscape Award (UELA) 2026/27. The lab is recruiting for two projects: 'Overlayed Realities – Situated Visualisation and Analyses for Managing and Predicting Resilient Urban Systems' supervised by Dr Valerio Signorelli, and 'The Invisible Cyclist – Mandating V2X Presence Messaging for Autonomous Urban Streets' supervised by Prof Duncan Wilson, in partnership with The Bicycle Association of Great Britain. These projects are part of a larger cohort of 50 fully-funded four-year PhD studentships, with a maximum of 15 places for international students. What's required
Applicants should have or expect to obtain a first-class or upper second-class undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline such as urban planning, computer science, engineering, or a related field. Strong analytical, programming, and communication skills are desirable. International applicants are welcome, but only up to 15 international places are available. English language proficiency as per UCL requirements is necessary.
