Multiple Ph.D. Opportunities at George Mason University Position Summary: The Mobility Observatory and Data Analytics Lab (MODAL) in the Department of Geography and Geoinformation Science at George Mason University is looking to immediately fill multiple doctoral research assistantship positions supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF), starting in Fall 2024 or Spring 2025. We are seeking candidates with strong foundations and interests in the nexus of human mobility, environment, and climate. Outstanding candidates will demonstrate skills and experience in travel behavior modeling, data analysis, survey design and conduction, GIS-T, and geospatial analysis.Qualification and Experience: Applicants should hold a master’s degree in geography, urban and regional planning, engineering, or a related field. A solid background in statistical analysis and mathematical programming, as well as proficiency in technical writing and strong communication skills, is essential.
