About this position
The Immersive Visualization & Interaction Lab (IVI Lab) at Georgia Tech University is recruiting 1–2 fully funded PhD students for Fall 2026. The lab, led by Assistant Professor Yalong Yang, focuses on cutting-edge research in Data Visualization, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), and Virtual & Augmented Reality (VR/AR). Students will have the opportunity to design, implement, and evaluate next-generation immersive systems and interactive experiences that shape how humans engage with data and digital environments. The ideal candidate is passionate about VR/AR/VIS/HCI research, has strong programming and technical skills (Unity3D, d3.js, WebXR, or similar), and preferably has first-author publication experience.
