A new PhD scholarship at
Western Sydney University
: Novel hydrophobic concrete for durable and resilient infrastructure. The application will close on 31 January 2025.
If you are motivated to develop a new generation of integral waterproofing admixture by using nano-hydrophobic and crystalline admixtures in combination for improving concrete durability, this PhD scholarship funded by an ARC Linkage project will be perfect for you.
After adding the new admixture, the water absorption of concrete should be significantly reduced. It is expected that the safety and serviceability of concrete buildings and infrastructure will be improved by adopting the new admixture, thus lowering costs, frequent repairs, and reconstruction.
The selected candidate will receive a tax-free stipend of $36,500 (AUD) per annum for up to 3 years to support living costs with a tuition fee waiver.
The preferred candidates should have a good track record of relevant publications and demonstrate strong academic performance in subjects relevant to chemicalengineering , polymerengineering , and/or materialengineering /science.
