Dr Florence Becot (https://lnkd.in/dB-SR_qb) PhD recruitment announcement: I am recruiting a PhD student to come work with me starting Fall 2025. They would join my integrated research-extension program focused on farm families’ health, safety, well-being, and economic viability. I am a Rural Sociologist, and I do mixed-methods research using primary and secondary data. Current projects that I am leading include the Linking Childcare to Farm Children Safety Project (https://lnkd.in/ddm95Q3Z) and the Farmers’ Mental Health Help Seeking Strategies Project (https://lnkd.in/dP2_XVuQ); both are funded by CDC NIOSH. Depending on the person’s interest and experiences, there could be opportunities to co-design a new project. For more information about my work, see. My department, the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering, offers a PhD in Biorenewable Systems and a dual title degree in International Agiculture and Development. I am also affiliated with the Gender Equity through Agricultural Research and Education (GEARE) network which offers additional training options. This PhD opportunity could be a great fit for someone with a masters’ degree in a social science discipline and interesed in an interdisciplinary PhD. This could also be a great fit for someone interested in social policy and cross-national comparative research, two of my areas of interest.
