A fully funded PhD position is available at the University of Southampton as part of the UKRI Centre for Doctoral Training in AI for Sustainability (SustAI CDT). The project, led by Associate Professor Ishmael Tingbani and Dr. Renata Konadu, focuses on 'AI-Enabled Sustainability Reporting and Assurance for the Circular Economy: Aligning Real-Time Supply Chain Data with Global Sustainability Reporting Frameworks.' The research aims to leverage artificial intelligence to address urgent environmental challenges by improving sustainability reporting and supply chain transparency. The program offers structured training in AI, sustainability, and professional skills, as well as interdisciplinary collaboration across computer science, engineering, and related fields.

Students will benefit from engagement with industry, NGOs, and policymakers, and will receive mentorship, workshops, and career development support. The opportunity is open to applicants from the UK, EU, and Horizon-associated countries, with a particular encouragement for women, Black students, and other underrepresented groups in AI and STEM.
