The School of Chemical Engineering at Yeungnam University, Republic of Korea, is seeking applications for a PhD candidate position under the supervision of Prof. Seong-Cheol Kim. This opportunity is ideal for candidates interested in interdisciplinary research at the intersection of computational chemistry, material science, and nanomaterial synthesis. The research will focus on advanced computational methods such as DFT calculation, molecular docking, and molecular dynamics, as well as the synthesis, characterization, and application of advanced materials and nanomaterials.

Applicants should hold an M.Sc. or equivalent degree in Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering, or Material Science. Essential skills include hands-on experience with DFT calculation, molecular docking, and molecular dynamics, as well as basic knowledge or experience in material characterization. Strong motivation for independent research and a commitment to scientific advancement are required. Preference will be given to applicants currently residing in Korea, and those with prior publications or research experience in related areas. Good communication and teamwork skills are also valued.

The position offers a stipend of approximately 1.1 million KRW per month, with the possibility of a tuition fee waiver for candidates who meet the required language proficiency in either Korean (TOPIK Level 6) or English (TOEFL iBT 100, IELTS 7, or TOEIC 900 or above). The expected start date is September 1, 2026, and the minimum duration of the program is four years.
