About this position

The Rector Roger Dillemans Institute for Family Property Law at KU Leuven, under the direction of Prof. Dr. Alain-Laurent Verbeke, is offering a full-time PhD position in the field of Family Property Law. The Institute is part of the Private Law Research Unit and is renowned for its education and research in family property law, inheritance law, gifts, and wills. As a PhD candidate, you will conduct scientific research both independently and as part of ongoing projects within the Institute. Applicants must hold a Master in Law with excellent academic results. A Master in Notary Law is considered an advantage, and international experience such as Erasmus exchange is a plus. The position offers a full-time contract for one year starting September 1, 2026, with the possibility of renewal up to a maximum of four years. The PhD position is fully funded, with a standard KU Leuven PhD salary and benefits.
