Description

Aalborg University's AI:SECURITY Lab is recruiting a PhD fellow to join a dynamic research team focused on advanced trustworthy AI and its application to cybersecurity. The position is based in Copenhagen and is part of the AI:X initiative, which aims to advance AI research and foster interdisciplinary collaboration. The successful candidate will work on developing methods to ensure the privacy, security, and robustness of AI systems, with research topics including adversarial attacks and defenses, privacy-preserving AI (such as federated learning and differential privacy), cryptographic approaches for data privacy, and deepfake detection. The lab is a collaboration between the Department of Electronic Systems and the Department of Computer Science at Aalborg University, and is expected to grow significantly in the coming year. Applicants should have a strong background in information engineering, computer science, cybersecurity, or related fields, and possess strong programming skills. Funding

Requirements

Applicants must hold a Master's degree in information engineering, computer science, cybersecurity, software engineering, or a related field. Strong programming skills (e.g., Python) are required. Candidates should be highly motivated to conduct research in AI and cybersecurity, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, and be able to work both independently and collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams. A background in cybersecurity, machine learning, AI, or large language models (LLM) is advantageous but not mandatory. Enrollment as a PhD student at the Technical Doctoral School of IT and Design is required.
