The Rendo Lab at Uppsala University is recruiting for a Postdoctoral Fellow and two Research Assistant positions (wet-lab and computational) to join their mission of understanding and overcoming treatment resistance in pediatric and adult brain tumors. The lab, led by Group Leader Verónica Rendo, is embedded within the Department of Immunology, Genetics and Pathology, a vibrant research environment with strong programs in cancer precision medicine, genomics, neurobiology, and translational research.

Research in the Rendo Lab focuses on the genetic and adaptive mechanisms that enable malignant brain tumor cells to survive therapy. Projects aim to elucidate why some tumor cells respond to treatment while others develop resistance, with the ultimate goal of developing more effective combination therapies for children and adults with brain tumors. The lab employs advanced technologies such as single-cell RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, multiome sequencing, cellular barcoding, epigenetic profiling (e.g., CUT&RUN), genome-wide CRISPR screens, and patient-derived models including brain organoid co-cultures and mouse xenografts.

The Postdoctoral Fellow will conduct computational analyses of tumor evolution and resistance using high-dimensional sequencing data, collaborating with neuro-oncology teams across Europe and the US. The role requires a PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics, data science, machine learning, or molecular medicine, with strong programming and data analysis skills, experience with large datasets, and fluency in English. Experience with cancer datasets, especially brain tumors, is a strong merit.

The Research Assistant (wet-lab) will focus on experimental research involving cell culture, molecular biology, CRISPR screening, and genetic/epigenetic analysis at the single-cell level. The Computational Assistant will analyze sequencing data and support bioinformatics projects. Both require a Master's degree (or expected by July 2026) in a relevant field, experience with the required techniques, and fluency in English.

All positions are full-time, fixed-term contracts (Postdoc: 2 years with possible 1-year extension; Research Assistants: 12 months).
