Postdoctoral Bioinformatician/Data Scientist Position in Biomarkers and Life Sciences (Sweden) KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden

The School of Engineering Sciences in Chemistry, Biotechnology and Health at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden is seeking a postdoctoral-level Bioinformatician/Data Scientist specializing in biomarkers. The position is based within the Affinity Proteomics unit, part of the SciLifeLab Proteomics platform, and focuses on biomarker discovery and validation in body fluids. The successful candidate will develop and implement robust data management and analysis workflows for large epidemiological cohorts and clinical projects, supporting both user-driven and internal research initiatives.

Key responsibilities include building pipelines for data quality control, integrating diverse clinical and proteomics data, and supporting cross-platform data harmonization. The role also involves providing high-quality bioinformatics support in collaborative validation studies, ensuring the proteomics infrastructure at SciLifeLab remains at the forefront of precision medicine research.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biostatistics, or a related life sciences field, or have an advanced degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience. Advanced programming skills in Python, R, or similar languages are required, along with a strong background in biomarker discovery, data analysis, and workflow development for biological data (proteomics, genomics, transcriptomics, or multi-omics). Experience in clinical research, translational science, and collaborative international environments is essential. Preferred qualifications include expertise in multiomics integration, affinity proteomics data analysis (e.g., Olink, SomaScan), data visualization, statistical modeling, machine learning, and familiarity with regulatory requirements for biomarker validation.

The position offers a permanent, full-time contract with a monthly salary and a six-month probationary period.
