Applications are invited for the ANRF National Post-Doctoral Fellowship (N-PDF 2026) to be hosted at the BioRefinery & BioEnergy Research Laboratory (BBRL), Amity Institute of Biotechnology, Amity University, Noida. This opportunity is ideal for candidates with a PhD awarded or thesis submitted in Science, Engineering, or Medicine, who are interested in advanced research on microalgae, microbial bioprocessing, and related biotechnological applications.

The research themes include integrated microalgal biorefineries and process intensification, microalgae-yeast and microalgae-bacteria consortia for enhanced productivity, carbon capture and utilization (CCU) through microbial platforms, wastewater treatment and waste valorization to biofuels and high-value bioproducts, and pilot-scale bioprocess development for sustainable biomanufacturing. The BBRL offers state-of-the-art experimental infrastructure for algal and microbial biotechnology, translational research with pilot-scale process development exposure, strong support for high-impact publications, and mentorship towards independent research careers and academic leadership.

Eligibility requirements include Indian citizenship, a PhD/M.D/M.S degree or thesis submission, at least two published papers, and an age limit of 35 years (with relaxations for certain categories). The fellowship cannot be held at the institution where the candidate earned their PhD, nor with their PhD supervisor. The mentor must be a regular academic/research staff member with a PhD in Science or Engineering. What's required

Applicants must be Indian citizens with a PhD or equivalent degree (PhD/M.D/M.S) in Science, Engineering, or Medicine from a recognized university, or have submitted their thesis and are awaiting the award of the degree. At least two published papers are required. The upper age limit is 35 years at the time of application, with a 5-year relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/Physically Challenged & Women candidates. Applicants must apply within five years of their PhD viva-voce and cannot have previously availed the NPDF. The fellowship cannot be held at the institution where the candidate earned their PhD, nor with their PhD supervisor. Mentors must hold a regular academic/research position and a PhD in Science or Engineering.
